The staff of college students and college graduates is led by a team of directors who facilitate the cooperative spirit of the camp and oversee administrative details. John Bechtold and Lindsay Fogg-Willits operate as the administrative directors of the camp, with the assistance of co-director Elena Betke-Brunswick supporting the administrative workload. All directors work in teaching/counseling positions in addition to their director roles.
John Bechtold is super-excited to return to DASAC for the next season! He is a writer, educator, and theater director who spends the other nine months of the year playing a teacher of English and Performing Arts at Amherst Regional High School, where he has been happily for six years. Returning from three months of grant work in multicultural education and the creative arts in New Zealand, John is excited to bring these new energies with him to camp for 2005, along with some funky-colored summer hairdo.
Lindsay Fogg-Willits is an artist and art educator. She is a member of the art department faculty at Northampton High School where she teaches part time and is the owner of ArtAlways, a studio art school for teens. As someone who has been a member of the DASAC community as a camper, counselor and co-director, she is really excited to be returning this summer as part of the administrative director team.
